Smart Tips to reorganise the kitchen

Yeap... reorganising the kitchen... I am going to write about reorganising the kitchen today...

Normally (even in my own kitchen), it is a mess. Why? Because I normally take things out, use them and then put them in the most convenient place, not necessarily the place where I took it from. Just the most convenient place...

And I think I am not the only one doing so...

And so, here are some useul tips... or at least I find it useful to me.

Toss anything you don't use
Be honest. When did you last use the melon baller, the pasta machine? Do you even know how to use it? So, pass it along to a friend or a relative who needs it more. Then you will have more space for the things you use

Store things where you will use them
Create centers of activities and store related items where you normally use them. For example, put the knives(in an appropriate holder) near the chopping board instead of knives in drawers and then the chopping board near the sink!

Group specialty items in small storage containers
Items that are seasonal or meet a special need should be relocated to a small labelled clear plastic bin or container. Try and get clear containers because you sure do not want to open each container up everytime you want to find the correct container.

Use liquid hand soap
It is more hygienic than bar soap and there is no slimy soap dish to deal with.

Free up counter space
Get a wall shelf with pegs. Items like spatula, tongs, oven gloves etc can be hanged instead of cluttering up precious counter space.

And so, here are my simple tips to keep your kitchen as tidy as you can... Oh.. and the most important thing? Try to put back the things you have taken out to use back to where they should be!
